This tutorial was written by me on June 25, 2020. The results are of my own imagination.  Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental.

This was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.

Please keep in mind that I write the tutorial as I am creating it.

Sometimes I may not explain properly where to place things so please see my example if you are ever in doubt :)

Supplies needed

I am using PSP 2018 but this tutorial should work with any version.

Animation shop (optional)

PTU Kit:  I am using a gorgeous kit called "Secrets" created by Hania's Design.  You can purchase the kit at PDF here. It comes with multiple elements, papers, tubes, wordart and animation by Sophiticat Simone.

PTU Tube:  I am using Goldwasser's beautiful tube Carolina.  Please do not use this tube without a proper license.  You can purchase this beautiful tube at here.

PTU Animation:  I am using the animation provided with the kit.

Mask:  Mask 78 and 79 by Vivienne's Paintbox. Thank you for your awesome masks.  You can download it from her blog here. I am using the jpg versions of mask 79 for this tutorial.  Open and minimize in PSP and mirror the mask.

Font of choice for your name.

Plug in: None

Drop shadow of choice.

Vivienne's Paintbox has awesome drop shadow settings that I use a lot.  You can find the settings here and check out her awesome tutorials :)

Anytime you resize an element or tube you should sharpen it.  Go to adjust, sharpness, sharpen.

Please remember to read the artists/designers TOU.

Let's get started.

Remember to save your tag often in case psp crashes.  I always save my tags as a pspimage.  It keeps all the layers and if you make tags for others you will always have the template.

Open a new 750x800 transparent image.  We will resize later.

Add a new layer and flood fill with white.

Open paper 2, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Go to layers, new mask layer, from image and select Vivienne's mask 79 from the drop down.  Click ok and merge group.  Resize the mask by 95%.

Copy mask 78 and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Move to the bottom right of mask 79.  Select all, float, defloat.  Add a new raster layer.  Open paper of choice, I am using paper 8, copy and close the original.  Select the new raster layer and paste into selections.  Select none and delete the original mask 78 layer.

Open element 11, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40%, free rotate to the right by 30 degrees, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the upper left of the mask.

Open element 70, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the upper left of the mask.

Open element 80, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the left bottom of the house.

Open element 108, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 50% and sharpen. Move to the right about half way down the house.  Select your magic wand and click in the center of the frame.  Selections, modify, expand by 5.  Select the stair layer and add a new raster layer.  Open paper of choice.  I am using paper 12, copy and close the original.  Select the new raster layer, edit, paste into selections.  Select none and drop shadow the frame.

Open element 31, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 50%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the top left corner of the frame.

Open element 56, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the bottom left of the frame.

Open element 28, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 50%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the bottom of the frame.

Open element 32, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 50%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the upper right of the house.

Open element 94, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the upper right of the creepy tree.

Open wordart 6, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 60%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the upper right of the mask.

Open element 48, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 80%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Drag this layer under the wordart layer and move to the center of the wordart.  

Open element 42, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 35%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the lower left of the black bolder.

Open element 35, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 35%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the lower right of the broom.

Open element 97, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the lower left of the second mask.

Open element 62, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the lower left so it is sitting on the rock.

Open element 59, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 40%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the lower right so it is sitting on the right corner of mask 2.

Copy your tube.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 30%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move down slightly so she is sitting on mask 2.

Open element 84, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 30%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the lower left of the tube's leg tattoo.

Open element 38, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 25%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the lower right so it is by the tube's hip.

Open element 23, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 25%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the lower right so it is by the tube's hip.

Open element 52, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 30%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move to the lower left of the box. 

Open element 51, copy and close the original.  Select the top layer and paste.  Resize 30%, sharpen and drop shadow.  Move just below the M in the wordart. 

Add any other elements you like and make any adjustments to the layers.

Crop away any extra space.  Resize 650 on the longest side, all layers checked.

Add your copyright and name.

Animating the tag.  Make sure your tag is saved as a psp image file as you do not want to loose it if psp crashes.

Open Sophisticat Simone's animated in psp.  Shift + D to duplicate it and close the original.  Do not save any changes as a psd file will merge into one layer.  We do not want this to happen.  You will notice that there is 14 layers in this animation and it does not have the group layer.  That is ok as we are going to learn how to do this so it matches the animation layers of the tube.  

We need to group all the layers.  Starting from layer 14, hold down your control key and select each layer so the next one will be 13 then 12 etc.  Once all the layers are selected (the layers will be highlighted in blue) we need to group them.  All layers selected? 

Next we need to group these layers.  Go to Layers, New layer group.  Scroll all the way to the top and you will see Group 1 with all the layers as sub layers.  You can rename each layer starting from the bottom layers 1 through 14 as this will help when we need to animate.

Select group 1, copy and close the original.  Select your tag layer and paste.  When you paste grouped layers it will always go to the top.  Standing on group one select the link icon to link all the layer.  Click the arrow beside the new group to hide all the sub layers.

Drag this group down the layer pallet to a spot you like.  I dragged it down to just below the creepy tree layer.  

Click on the little arrow to expand it.  Click on the eye beside each layer to hide them.  We only want layer 1 visible.

Ok we are now finished our tag and ready to animate.

Open Animation shop and go back to psp.

With only frame 1 of the animations visible, edit, copy special, copy merged.

Back to Animation shop.

Edit, paste as new animation or keyboard shortcut Ctrl+V.

**Back to psp.

Hide Frame 1 by clicking on the eyeball and unhide frame 2 by clicking on the eyeball. Edit, copy special, copy merged.

Back to Animation Shop.

We need to paste after current frame.  Go to edit, paste after current frame.  Keyboard shortcut  Shift+Ctrl+L**

Repeat from **to** until you have 14 frames in animation shop.  It will tell you on the bottom right corner how many frames you have.  

Now we need to slow down the animation.  Go to Edit, select all or Ctrl + A.  Animation, frame properties. In the display Time (in 1/100th sec): box type in 20 and click ok.

Go to file Save as, gif and click next and next until you hit finished.  I use the default settings.
