Dazzling Snow Queen
This tutorial was written by me on January 5, 2024. The results are of my own imagination. Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental.
Please DO NOT claim this tutorial as your own.
This was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PS.
Please keep in mind that I write the tutorial as I am creating it.
Sometimes I may not explain properly where to place things so please see my example if you are ever in doubt :)
Supplies needed
I am using Adobe Photoshop 2024 but this tutorial should work with any version.
You can download the 7 day trial of PS here.
PTU Tube: I am using Verymany's beautiful tube "Ariella". Please do not use this tube without a proper license. You can purchase it here.
PTU Kit: I am using a gorgeous matching kit called "Dazzling Snow Queen" created by Wicked Princess Scraps. You can purchase her beautiful kit here.
Mask: Mask: Mask Vivienne_0090 by Vivienne's Digital Tagging. Thank you for your awesome masks. You can download it from her blog here. I am using the png versions for this tutorial.
Font of choice for your name.
Plug in: None
Drop shadow of choice.
Please read all the Artist's/Designer's TOU.
To open an image, I click on the element or paper in the file folder and drag it into PS.
To transfer an element or paper in PS to my tag, I left click and drag it into my working canvas.
The other way is to left click and drag the element from the folder right onto your tag.
Either way you will get the same results but the resizing will be different :). I will be using the both method for this tutorial.
For resizing and rotating I use the Ctrl+T command.
To mirror or Flip go to Edit>Transform>Flip Horizontal (mirror) or Flip vertical (Flip).
Remember to save often.
Let's get started.
Open a new 800x800 transparent image. We will resize later.
Add a new raster layer.
Go to layers, New fill layer, solid color. When the pop up window appears type in FFFFFF and click ok.
Drag Vivienne's mask into the tag. Resize 31.46% and move to the top center.
Drag paper 13 into your tag. Resize 87.76% and mirror.
Right click on the paper layer and select "Create a clipping mask". Merge these two layers together. Duplicate, Resize the H: only to 36.58 and move down to the middle far left. Duplicate this layer and flip. and move to the bottom. Now there is a part of the mask we don't want showing on the bottom.
To get rid of it, got to Layers, Layer Mask, Reveal all. You will see a white mask icon pinned to the mask layer. Click the mask Icon. Using your paint tool and foreground set to black, paint over the part of the mask that we want to get rid of. Select your move tool. Duplicate this layer and move up and to the right slightly. See my tag for placement.
Drag element 55 into your tag. Resize 65.77% and move to the top center of the mask.
Drag element 103 into your tag. Resize 52.05% and move to the lower center of the slightly to the right.
Drag paper 1 into the tag and resize 44.43%. Drag this layer under the frame layer and place into a spot of the frame you like best. Select the frame layer. Using your magic wand, click in the center of the frame. Select, Modify, expand by 3. Select the paper layer. Go to Layers, Layer Mask, Reveal selected.
Standing on the paper layer, drag element 129 into the tag. Resize 42.96% and move it to the top of the frame. Holding down the Alt key on your keyboard, select the mask icon on the paper layer and drag it up to the icicle layer. Release the alt key and left mouse. You should now have to masks one on the paper layer and one on the icicle layer.
Select the top layer.
Drag element 116 into the tag. Resize 49.53% and move to the top left of the mask.
Drag element 113 into the tag. Resize 53.06% and move over the flattened mask on the middle far left mask. Duplicate this layer and move to the lower right mask. Duplicate one more time and move to the lower center of the masks.
Drag element 44 into the tag. Resize 62.58% and move to the left side of the frame.
Drag element 46 into the tag. Resize 45.78% and move to the bottom of the tree.
Drag element 96 into the tag. Resize 11.09% and move to the bottom left of the house.
Drag element 47 into the tag. Resize 30.47% and move to the left side of the house.
Drag element 75 into the tag. Resize 22.03%, mirror and move to the bottom center of the house.
Drag element 132 into the tag. Resize 71.47% and move to the right side of the frame.
Drag element 45 into the tag. Resize 47.82% and move to the lower center between the white tree and house.
Drag element 40 into the tag. Resize 33.91% and move to the right side of the fence.
Drag element 93 into the tag. Resize W: 18.92% H: -18.92, rotate 142.85 degrees and move to the left side of the thrown.
You can find this under Filter, Sharpen, unsharpen mask.
I applied unsharpen mask with the following settings:
Drag element 120 into the tag. Resize 12.21%, mirror and move to the right side of the thrown.
Drag element 70 into the tag. Resize 12.40% and move onto the thrown so it looks like the cat is sitting on it. I applied the same unsharpen mask filter to the cat.
Drag element 117 into the tag. Resize 15.05% and move to the far lower left of the lower masks. See my tag for placement.
Drag element 115 into the tag. Resize 38.75% and move to the lower right side of the thrown.

Drag element 54 into the tag. Resize 9.37% and move to the bottom right side of the cage.
Drag element 52 into the tag. Resize 21.25% and move to the bottom left of the tube.
Drag element 139 into the tag. Resize 15.31% and move to the bottom left of element 52.
Drag element 156 into the tag. Resize 14.09% and move to the bottom of element 139.
Drag element 53 into the tag. Resize 18.12% and move to the bottom left of the cage.
Drag element 101 into the tag. Resize 12.05% and move to the bottom left of element 53 and apply the unsharpen mask with the same settings.
Drag element 104 into the tag. Resize 9.15% and move to the bottom right of the staircase.
Drag element 72 into the tag. Resize 11.26% and move to the bottom right of the clock and apply the unsharpen mask with the same settings.

Add any other elements you like and make any adjustments to the layers.
Crop away any extra space.
Resize the tag to your liking if needed. I usually resize mine by 650 on the width side unless it is already smaller than 650.
Oh almost forgot we need to drop shadow all of our elements. I actually do the drop shadow at the end :)
Select the element on the bottom of your tag in the layer pallet and double click it. I started with element 55.
A layer style window will pop up. Click on Drop shadow. and use the following settings.
Now right click on the layer you just applied the drop shadow. Click copy layer style.
Now click on the layer above the paper layer hold down the shift key, select the layer under element 113. Right click and paste layer styles.
Select element 44 layer, holding down the shift key, select the top layer. Right click and paste layer styles. Drop shadow complete :)
Add your copyright and name.
Hide the white background layer Save your tag and export as png.
I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial. I would love to see your results.
