A Perfect Love
This tutorial was written by me on January 14, 2024. The results are of my own imagination. Any resemblance to another tutorial is purely coincidental.
Please DO NOT claim this tutorial as your own.
This was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PS.
Please keep in mind that I write the tutorial as I am creating it.
Sometimes I may not explain properly where to place things so please see my example if you are ever in doubt :)
Supplies needed
I am using Adobe Photoshop 2024 but this tutorial should work with any version.
You can download the 7 day trial of PS here.
PTU Tube: I am using Stella Felice Art's beautiful tube "Valentine's Day 24". This tube comes with multiple layers. Please do not use this tube without a proper license. You can purchase it here.
PTU Kit: I am using a gorgeous matching kit called "A Perfect Love" created by Doodle by Design. You can purchase this beautiful kit here.
I am using the mask that is included in the kit.
Font of choice for your name.
Plug in: None
Drop shadow of choice.
Please read all the Artist's/Designer's TOU.
To open an image, I click on the element or paper in the file folder and drag it into PS.
To transfer an element or paper in PS to my tag, I left click and drag it into my working canvas.
The other way is to left click and drag the element from the folder right onto your tag.
Either way you will get the same results but the resizing will be different :). I will be using the both method for this tutorial.
For resizing and rotating I use the Ctrl+T command.
To mirror or Flip go to Edit>Transform>Flip Horizontal (mirror) or Flip vertical (Flip).
Remember to save often.
Let's get started.
Open a new 800x800 transparent image. We will resize later.
Add a new raster layer.
Go to layers, New fill layer, solid color. When the pop up window appears type in FFFFFF and click ok.
Drag element 97's mask into the tag. Resize 44.56% and move to the top left.
Drag paper 17 into your tag. Move over the mask to a spot you like best.
Right click on the paper layer and select "Create a clipping mask". Merge these two layers together. Duplicate, and resize 71.95% and move to the lower right of the mask. We will come back to the mask layer in the tutorial.
Drag element 111 into the tag. Resize 18.11% and move to the top right of the first mask.
Drag element 38 into the tag. Move to the center of the first mask.
Drag paper 15 into the tag. Resize 44.11%, drag this layer under the frame layer. Move into a spot you like best inside the frame. Select the frame layer, using your magic wand, click inside the frame. Select, modify, expand by 15. Select the paper layer and click the mask icon on the bottom of the layers pallet. It will be next to the FX icon.
Standing on the paper layer. Drag element 96 into the tag. Resize 17.96 and move to the top of the frame. Holding down the Alt key, select the mask thumbnail on the paper layer and drag it up to element 96. Release the mouse and alt key. You should now have two mask thumbnails one on the paper layer and one on element 96.
Drag element 4 into the tag. Resize 5.91% and move to the lower center of the frame.
Drag element 104 into the tag. Resize 25.52% and move to the top of the frame.
Drag element 94 into the tag. Resize 23.11% and move to the left side of the frame.
Drag element 55 into the tag. Resize 16.61% and move to the lower left of the heart.
Drag element 58 into the tag. Resize 5.77% and move to the lower right of the heart.
Drag element 9 into the tag. Resize 7.55% and move to the bottom of the heart.
Drag element 21 into the tag. Resize 14.39% and move to the right of element 9.
Drag element 79 into the tag. Resize 7.84% and move to the bottom left of element 9.
Drag element 65 into the tag. Resize 14.22% and move to the bottom of element 9.
Drag element 42 into the tag. Resize 4.76% and move to the bottom right of the violin.
Drag element 62 into the tag. Resize 12.20% and move to the bottom of the violin.
Drag element 33 into the tag. Resize 17% and move to the top right of the frame.
Drag element 31 into the tag. Resize 21.44% and move to the bottom of the balloons.
Drag element 59 into the tag. Resize 40.74% and move to the bottom right of the tree. Duplicate and move to the bottom of element 62.
Drag element 12 into the tag. Resize 17.86% and move to the bottom right of the first element 59.
Select element 59, duplicate and drag the layer up over element 12. Resize 31.99% and move to the lower right of element 12.
Drag your tube into PS. Select the layer you would like to use, I am using Couple 5, and drag it into the tag. Right click on the tube layer and convert to smart object. Resize 27.05% and move to the left of the tree.
Drag WordArt 2 into the tag. Resize 55.23% and move to the lower left of the tube.
Drag element 41 into the tag. Resize 35.66% and move to the lower left of the wordart.
Select element 59 layer. The one in front of the box and duplicate. Drag this layer above element 41 layer and move to the lower left of element 41.
Now select the mask icon on the bottom of the layer pallet. You will see a white thumbnail on the layer. Select the thumbnail. Using your paint brush and foreground set to black, paint over the two lower flower buds. This will erase the part of the element we don't want but will not damage the element in the event you make an error painting on the mask.
Drag element 64 into the tag. Resize 17.50%, mirror and move to the bottom of element 41.
Drag element 14 into the tag. Resize 16.59% and move to the bottom right of the tube by the woman's dress.
Drag element 43 into the tag. Resize 9.34% and move to the bottom of the wordart.
Drag element 36 into the tag. Resize 27.27% and move to the bottom of element 59 and 64.
Drag element 54 into the tag. Resize 42.65%, mirror and move to the bottom of the hat.
Drag element 35 into the tag. Resize 5.84% and move to the right of the hat.
Drag element 86 into the tag. Resize 29.03% and move to the upper right of mailbox.
Drag element 10 into the tag. Resize 8.68% and move to the bottom of the tube's arm.
Drag element 23 into the tag. Resize 5.71% and move to the bottom right of element 10.
Drag element 62 into the tag. Resize 6.43% and move to the bottom of element 23.
Drag element 24 into the tag. Resize 8.47% and move to the right of the heart with the butterfly on it.
Drag element 28 into the tag. Resize 4.37% and move to the left of element 24.
Drag element 29 into the tag. Resize 4.40% and move to the lower bottom right of element 28.
Drag element 22 into the tag. Resize 5.18% and move to the left of element 29.
Drag element 6 into the tag. Resize 2.36%, mirror and move to the bottom left of element 22.
Drag element 78 into the tag. Resize 8.93% and move to the bottom left of element 78.
Drag element 5 into the tag. Resize 3.06% and move to the bottom right of the top hat.
Drag element 44 into the tag. Resize 6.67% and move to the bottom of green leaf.
Drag element 8 into the tag. Resize 9.39% and move to the right the clock.
Drag element 73 into the tag. Resize 12.21% and move to the bottom of the clock.
Drag element 7 into the tag. Resize 8.94% and move to the left of the clock.
Drag element 27 into the tag. Resize 2.04% and move to the right of heart by the top hat.
Select the first mask layer and duplicate it. Resize W:71.95 and H: 10.38. Move to the lower left of the tag. Duplicate this layer and move to the lower right of the tag.
Add any other elements you like and make any adjustments to the layers.
Crop away any extra space.
Resize the tag to your liking if needed. I usually resize mine by 650 on the width side unless it is already smaller than 650.
Oh almost forgot we need to drop shadow all of our elements. I actually do the drop shadow at the end :)
Select the element on the bottom of your tag in the layer pallet and double click it. I started with element 111.
A layer style window will pop up. Click on Drop shadow. and use the following settings.
Click on image for larger preview.
Now right click on the layer you just applied the drop shadow. Click copy layer style.
Now click on element 96 layer, holding down your shift key, select the top layer. Right click and paste layer style.
Drop shadow complete :)
Add your copyright and name.
Hide the white background layer.
Save your tag and export as png.
I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial. I would love to see your results.
